Kingsway History

The vision for Kingsway began in April 1992, with a meeting of 15-20 families who were concerned about their children’s future.  All sensed the need for a non-denominational approach to Christian education.  It would be a school where each child was respected, cared for, challenged, and provided with quality spiritual and academic instruction.  The 1992-93 school year saw 52 students, Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Beginning in 1997 the 7th grade was added and for the next five years each successive grade was added.  Kingsway’s first graduation was held in June of 2003 when 17 students received their diplomas.

We are now a Kindergarten through twelfth grade Christian school with 240 students enrolled.  Many programs have been added during the last several years that include:  School Plays, Student Council, Mission Trips, Job Shadowing Experiences, Post-Secondary Options, Summer Athletic Camps, National Honor Society, private instrumental and vocal lessons, Wilderness Club, and Online Courses.

Several athletic teams have been established during the last few years.  The ladies enjoy volleyball, basketball, and softball.  The gentlemen enjoy soccer, golf, basketball, and baseball.  The emphasis is placed upon doing everything in an excellent way in order to give God the glory.

Kingsway Christian School continues to be a parent sponsored school that offers a non-denominational approach to Christian education.  We are located in a new facility just south of Orrville, Ohio and west of Riceland.  We are in the process of gaining ACSI accreditation in order to continually improve our school.
