ACADEMIC ADVANTAGE


· Low student/teacher ratio

· Curriculum alignment is based on State Standards

· Math Programs structured to meet individual needs from pre-algebra through calculus

· Course offerings include Advanced Biology, Calculus, Physics, and Spanish IV

· Spanish is offered for Elementary and Secondary students

· Field trip are offered for grades K-12 to extend and enhance classroom learning experiences

· Students in Grade 8 in good standing are able to earn high school credits in Math, Health and Computer classes

· Post Secondary classes are offered through Wayne College - Selected classes are available for duel credit (high school/college credit) - Earn College Credits


ACADEMIC PLACEMENT & TESTING

· The Orleans-Hanna Algebra Prognosis Test is administered to 6th Graders to determine pre-algebra placement in 7th Grade

· Career path planning begins in Grade 8 using the Differential Career and Aptitude Test which includes an Interest Inventory

· Both the PLAN and the PSAT NMSQT are administered annually - the PLAN test is a practice ACT test and the PSAT NMSQT isa practice SAT test which is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (Three National Merit Scholarship Students have graduated from Kingsway)

· The OGT (Ohio Graduation Test) is administered each year beginning the in 10th Grade

· Annually all K-11 students take the nationally normed Tera Nova 3 subject area and ability tests

 

ACADEMIC MERITS

· Honors and Merit Diplomas are awarded to qualifying students

· Kingsway’s National Honor Society Chapter was established in 2003. Above national standards, the chapter includes a character development component and a community service component

· Elementary, Middle, and Secondary level Student Councils are in place

· Graduates are required to have one Bible credit on their transcripts for every year they attend High School at Kingsway

· Kingsway’s graduation requirements exceed state mandates

· 100% of the 2011 sophomore class passed the OGT Test, 40% scored at the Honors level

· A large percentage of our students graduate with a 4.0 or higher GPA

· Three National Merit Scholarship Students have graduated from Kingsway

· 51% of the 2011 and 2012 graduates scored 24 or higher on the ACT Test

· Seven Kingsway students have published literary works, including one published by Focus on the Family Publishers
